FusionFall Universe Forum Rules [Updated 11/7/2017]
« on: May 03, 2016, 03:29:10 AM »
Welcome to the FusionFall Universe Forums! This is the main hub for FusionFall discussion. Please read this quick list of rules before posting on our forums. You are expected to follow them at all times, and are responsible for keeping up with them if they are ever updated (the last update date should be in the title of this post). The following rules apply to all posts, images, private messages, personal messages and usernames on the FusionFall Universe Forums. Thank you for being part of the community!

1. Use appropriate language.
Inappropriate use of wording in any of the forums will result in that specific word being censored. Excessive use of inappropriate wording will result in a warning or ban.  If you try to bypass or succeed in bypassing the censors, you will be warned/banned depending on the severity of the matter. Using acronyms that contain censored language will be seen as if it was actually said in the post. Implying to use an inappropriate word without actually posting it will also be seen as if it was actually said.

2. Treat others with respect.
Having different opinions is okay, but if the argument goes too far, the thread will either be locked or removed. We urge all users to respect the opinions of their fellow FusionFall fans. There is a difference between respectfully disagreeing with an opinion using logic and reasoning, and purely insulting the user and/or their opinion.

Disrespect will not be tolerated. This includes mocking, antagonizing, harrassing, or otherwise targeting a user/group to provoke them. Although by definition these depend on a member's intentions, moderators will judge incidents based on the perceived effects on the target. Be careful to respect other members' dignity.
(Depending on how big the offense is, violation of this rule can also result in a ban.)

3. Keep double posting and quote-chaining to a minimal.
Double posting means posting multiple replies, (one after another), in the same thread. Try editing your messages instead. Additionally, please refrain from quote-chaining. This is the term for when a long line of people continously quote each other in a conversation, leading to massive posts that take a while to read and clutter the page. When the chain appears to be getting long, simply cut out the old posts from the quoting "pyramid" when creating your post so that it only contains content relevant to your reply. Forum games in the Rec Room section are exempt from this rule if the purpose of the thread calls for it.

4. DO NOT give out or ask for any personal information.
Due to legal and safety reasons, the distribution of personal information (Real name, address, phone number, age, etc.) is not allowed on our site. This also includes our personal messaging system. Videos with personal facecams in them are also not allowed. Posting your YouTube channel with facecams is fine, however to ensure the safety of all of our members, we are not allowing any sort of direct link to a video. The privacy of our users is important to us.

5. Do not spam, troll or deviate too far from the topic of a thread.
In other words, don't annoy members with negative/repetitive/unwanted/unnecessary comments and/or criticisms. Put yourself in that other member's shoes. Furthermore, please try to put thought into your posts and make sure that they are relevant to the topic of the thread. Do not reply with posts that have little to no content solely to respond in some way without intent to actually discuss or add to an existing discussion. Reaction images are fun in small bursts, but we also love to hear thoughtful discussion!

In addition, do not post "signatures" at the end of each post. The feature to allow signatures was removed for a variety of reasons, such as: causing lag and slowing of load time for mobile users along with consuming more user data, moderation purposes, and an all around uniform look to the website and forums.

Lastly, do not abuse the report button and use it as a means to pester the Community Team or someone you hold a grudge against.

6. Do not spread false development information as fact.
If you're trying to prove a point, please link to the thread or related source material containing authentic information confirmed by a Developer. Please only cite official FusionFall Universe sources when doing this. Any posts that had been made by Developers on ModNet do not count, as most of the information there is outdated. By extension, anything said outside of official FusionFall Universe sources should not be taken as fact, unless stated otherwise.

7. Do not act on the behalf of a staff member.
It's great that some people like to help enforce the rules. However, we have found that this can sometimes cause threads to deviate from the main discussion. Instead of replying to the specified post, please use the report button so that a member of the Community Team can handle the situation instead.

8. Post in the correct board.
Make sure you put a thread with a particular topic in the right section and category. The Fusionfall Universe Forums are divided into three sections: Universe, Legacy and Retro. For example, if you're talking about fan art, post in the Fanworks section. If you want to form a club, post in the Clubhouse section. This extends to the Retro and Legacy categories as well, if you're talking about FusionFall Legacy, make sure you post it in the right section!

9. Only link to appropriate websites.
Linking to sites outside of the trio of FusionFall Universe websites (,, and,  must be deemed appropriate per these rules. Linking to Facebook profiles or Twitter accounts with personal information (or things of that nature) are not permitted. This includes providing information for Skype, Discord, Kik, Snapchat, Tumblr, and/or etc.
The following is a full list of the pre-approved off-site information you are allowed to post, as long as the content does not violate any of the rules:

  • YouTube Accounts and Videos
  • Image Hosting Websites such as Imgur, Gyazo, prntscr ect.
  • Xbox Live Gamertags
  • Tags
  • PlayStation Network IDs
  • Steam Accounts
  • Nintendo Network IDs / Friend Codes
  • Wikia

10. Don't act entitled.
If you want to complain, criticize the work that we do, or just badmouth the developers in general, you're allowed to. You have the right to do so. If you are well spoken and make valid points, we'll listen!

HOWEVER, if we find that a majority of posts that you wind up making here on the forums consist of constant complaining, attempting to slander the project, or encouraging people to leave the site we will take action.
We want our users to contribute to the discussion as a whole and interact with other members as politely and well spoken as possible. Harassing anyone in the community or on the FusionFall Universe team will NOT be tolerated, nor will the slander of the projects hosted here on FusionFall Universe.

Everyone on the FusionFall Universe team is here because it's our hobby. We're happy that so many other people care about FusionFall as much as we do!

11. Do not advertise in other threads.
You've all got super cool things to share, we know! That said, please don't advertise in someone else's thread. You can post it if someone asks or if you think it will help forward the conversation as it stands, but there's no need to go around spamming it everywhere! If people want to see and react to it, they'll do it in your own thread. The only exception to this rule is sending alliance requests in the Clubhouse. Remember that these forums are to hang out, meet, and discuss with fellow FFU fans, not to advertise your own personal unrelated projects.

12. Do not discuss topics that are considered too inappropriate, controversial or mature for the forum.
The Fusion Universe Forums are frequently visited by people of all ages. This means that we do not want certain subject matters to be mentioned anywhere on the site. Use common sense when deciding what you should or should not discuss.

13. Do not discuss politics or religion.
You all have to remember that FusionFall Universe is accessed by people of different backgrounds, races and beliefs. Due to this, we have decided that political and religious subjects are not to be discussed anywhere on the site. This includes the mention of prominent political and religious figures. We believe this to be in the best interest of our user base.

14. Do not be dishonest.
In other words, do not claim other people's work as your own, post clickbait, scam, perform social experiments or make serious accusations without any hard evidence.

15. Read the Terms of Service!
If you haven't read the ToS (Terms of Service), Please read them! The fact that you're on here signifies you agree to those. So follow them!

16. Have Fun!
Don't be afraid to speak out or initiate your own threads talking about something of your concern.

For any questions/comments/concerns about our Rules and Guidelines, or your account standing in terms of complying with our rules, please feel free to message our Support Center.
