We only ever saw one fusion at a time in the original game, but would fight the same fusion multiple times. I think a fusion simply regenerates after the player defeats it and you fight the same individual fusion every time, since you can't really permanently "kill" anything fusion related
Eh.

One of the things Eddy says In the game Is "If you've got a dollar (It was either a jawbreaker or dollar) I'll tell you about the fusion Eddy in Pokey Oaks and the one running around endsville, too" (Or something like that) Implying there are more than one out there.
Keep in mind though, Eddy said that. It could have very likely been a story he made up
Yes, could. But I don't see why he could make something like that up. There's nothing he'd gain from It.
He'd get a dollar
But there was still a fusion.

I didn`t know THAT was outside the Candy Cove infected zone. Was there so much vegetation and housing in the original game?

To begin, I didn't expect to see a pic of the day thread be revived like this, a year later at that. Pretty funny, 'cause I've been going through old PotDs.
The Candy Cove infected zone did have housing, but not that close. The Vegetation, I do not recall correctly.
